State Agency Recycling Information

State agencies are required by the General Statutes to recycle newspaper, office paper, aluminum cans, and glass and plastic bottles.  Of course they also have to comply with the statewide landfill bans, including fluorescent lights, pallets, and plastic bottles.  Furthermore, agencies are mandated by General Statutes and Executive Order to purchase recycled content goods and services.  There is so much opportunity.  Let us be your first point of reference.

Recycling Outreach Campaigns

NC DEACS has three recycling outreach campaigns – Recycle Guys, RE3.org, and Recycle More NC. Each reaches a different audience with the goal of increasing the commitment to recycling and the collection of more materials for recycling in North Carolina. These campaigns incorporate the principles of social marketing that encourage sustainable behavior change and a lifelong commitment to recycling. The campaigns feature free downloadable artwork, logos and graphics, free promotional materials, access to mascots and more!

Visit the NC Recycling Outreach website and stay up to date with the latest recycling information by joining us on Facebook, following us on Twitter, and subscribing to our blog and newsletter.

Recyclable Materials

You may know all about recycling basic materials: paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, glass and plastic bottles. (If not, you can find hundreds of markets in our Recycling Markets Directory.) Now, you’re interested in taking it to the next level. Or, maybe you really want to educate yourself on the ins and outs of the materials banned from the landfill. If that’s the case, this is the list for you.  Happy researching!
